The Great Smokey Mountains
Red Rooster and his hen |
This rooster seems to be saying. "Quit preening and come on, we will be late for dinner." |
Blue butterfly |
This type of butterfly seem to be in abundance in the mountains. This one was sitting in the front yard and was later joined by about 5 others. |

This is the view from our cabin in Maggie Valley. We have since sold that and moved into a larger house in the woods. Lost the view but gained about 50 tons of leaves to rake each fall. |
Our Cabin in Maggie Valley
This is our cabin in Maggie Valley. We lived in this one for about 2 years before it became way too crowded when family came to visit. |

Oconaluftee Visitor Center |
This is a view of the barn at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center's mountain farm museum. This is one place we make sure we visit often. |
This barn caught my eye with its run down condition and rusted tin roof. Its for sale last time I looked. |

Taking some drives through the countryside is one of our favorite pastimes. The leaf watchers sometimes don't know about the back roads and the colors are beautiful. |
One of my favorite places in the park is this quiet walkway. This is a view from the bridge that crosses the Oconaluftee River and leads to the hiking trail. |
| |
A late color change in the mountains. This was early December. |
| |
This is a favorite spot at the Oconaluftee Visitor Center. Just follow the trail beside the Mountain farm museum. |
This picture of Lake Logan is one of my favorites. We were following a car across the bridge and saw this beautiful lake. The mist was rising over the lake as it warmed up. The car ahead of us stopped and what must have been a professional photographer got out with all his fancy equipment and set up to take a picture. Somehow I think my picture is just fine. |

The Bridgeton Bridge is no longer used by automobile traffic. It is one of the most photographed and painted bridges in Indiana.
