A rediscovery of my interest in photography. This site is meant as a way to show and share with my friends and family some photographs and reminices.
Rediscovery
The Ceylon Covered Bridge sparked my interest in covered bridges. Located in Adams County Indiana, it used to cross the Wabash River. Although the course of the river has changed, the bridge still stands on County Road West 950. We used to cross this bridge on bycicles when we were children.Unfortunately I have not photographed this bridge, but a picture can be found here.

A recent vacation trip to Indiana to visit friends gave me the opportunity to "rediscover" some of my favorite things. One is my long time hobby of photography and another is covered bridges. The area I was visiting was very different than the Indiana I knew. It was west of Indianapolis in a small town called Putnamville. If you have a real good map you might find it half way between Indianapolis and Terre Haute.
One Sunday afternoon, we decided to to take a drive through the countryside. Not really having any particular destination in mind, we packed a lunch and started driving. As we crossed over the Dunbar Bridge, I remarked how much I liked covered bridges. As a child I remember crossing over one near my home. We used to ride our bicycles over the bridge trying not to get our tires caught between the planks. We decided then to drive up to Parke County, known as the covered bridge capital of the world.
The following pages are some of the photographs I took on that drive as well as other drives we took during my stay.
Nature in the Great Smoky Mountains
More of my favorite places and photographs taken during many visits to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and various other scenic drives in the surrounding areas. We have found, as many many visitors to the area do, that we have our favorite drives and vavorite "spots". Hopefully the photographs I have included will give you a feel of the way I see the area.
